Give

Help us reach the next city.

The best donation is a working laptop. It becomes the reason someone shows up. If you have hardware to give, that is where to start. If you want to give financially, that works too.

Donate Hardware

A working laptop is the best thing you can give.

Without donated hardware, someone shows up to an Install Party with nothing and leaves the same way. With it, they leave with a machine they own. Every refurbished ThinkPad or Dell from 2015 or newer is a reason for someone to walk through the door.

01Laptops

Best choice. Portable, self-contained, and ready to use at an event.

  • ◆ThinkPad, Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook. 2015 or newer.
  • ◆4GB RAM minimum. 8GB preferred.
  • ◆Working display and keyboard required. Charger included if possible.
02Workstation PCs

Good for lab stations. Runs anything. Takes up more space.

  • ◆Dell Precision, HP Z-series, Lenovo ThinkStation. 2014 or newer.
  • ◆8GB RAM minimum.
  • ◆Include power cable and keyboard if possible.
03Mini PCs

Excellent for home server builds. Low power, small footprint.

  • ◆Intel NUC, Beelink, HP EliteDesk Mini. 2016 or newer.
  • ◆4GB RAM minimum. 8GB preferred.
  • ◆Include power adapter if you have it.
04Old Gaming Desktops

Powerful and often donated when someone upgrades. Any tower works.

  • ◆Any mid-tower or full tower from 2014 or newer.
  • ◆8GB RAM minimum.
  • ◆Dedicated GPU not required. Onboard graphics is fine.
05Tablets

Limited use. Can't run full Linux, but useful for basic training.

  • ◆Android tablets from 2018 or newer preferred.
  • ◆iPad accepted. Limited Linux compatibility, still useful.
  • ◆Include charger and any accessories.
06Single Board Computers

Great for home server and self-hosting projects at Level 2 and beyond.

  • ◆Raspberry Pi 3B or newer. Pi 4 and Pi 5 preferred.
  • ◆Include power supply, SD card, and case if you have them.
  • ◆Other SBCs accepted: Orange Pi, Rock Pi, BeagleBone.
Also needed
  • ◆USB drives (8GB or larger).
  • ◆USB-to-Ethernet adapters.
  • ◆Power bricks and cables for common laptop models.
How to give hardware

Email us at [email protected]. Tell us what you have and where you are. We will coordinate pickup or a ship-to address for the next event in your area.

Give Financially

Can't give hardware? Cash buys the drives.

Your donation funds the materials, the drives, and the next room full of people who don't know yet that this is possible.

Without your donation
With your donation
We can't give a free laptop.
Someone leaves with a machine they own.
We can't build homelabs.
More people reach Level 2 and 3.
We can't train the next wave.
The Great Commission keeps moving.
